Unit 6

Starting our new unit we are talking about energy, work, and power. Work is defined as any change in energy. The Law of Conservation of Energy states that in an isolated system energy cannot be created nor destroyed, it just changes forms.” Power is defined as the rate at which work is being done… son… We also talked about energy of position, which is gravitational potential energy. Lastly we talked about kinetic energy, which is energy of motion. One example of kinetic energy is a person running. Today was the Honolulu marathon. Each of the runners had kinetic energy because kinetic energy is energy that is possessed by any object in motion.

PC to my cousin… I stole her picture because she worked the marathon today J

Give Thanks to Physics

In physics we can constantly see how it relates to our everyday lives. Physics can be found everywhere and anywhere. There is lots to be thankful for in physics. We use acceleration constantly in our lives. Without it we wouldn’t be able to get in our cars to get to where we want to go. Although we could do it walking, we all know that we don’t wanna walk everywhere. There is also gravity. Without gravity everything that we do would be 10x harder. Gravity keeps us grounded, literally. I am thankful for physics in general. Life makes sense with Physics, and life is made easy. Reflecting on the things we are thankful for in Physics, I am mostly thankful for my family. With the acceleration of planes, the friction of the ground, and gravity  my brothers will be able to come home soon in this holiday season.
