Starting our new unit we are talking about energy, work, and
power. Work is defined as any change in energy. The Law of Conservation of
Energy states that in an isolated system energy cannot be created nor
destroyed, it just changes forms.” Power is defined as the rate at which work
is being done… son… We also talked about energy of position, which is
gravitational potential energy. Lastly we talked about kinetic energy, which is
energy of motion. One example of kinetic energy is a person running. Today was
the Honolulu marathon. Each of the runners had kinetic energy because kinetic
energy is energy that is possessed by any object in motion.
