Getting into this new unit, there are
new concepts for us to learn. Capacitance is the ability of an object to store
an electrical charge. Any object that can be electrically charged shows
capacitance. Capacitance is directly proportional to the surface area of
the conductor plates. Capacitors are the things used to store an electric
charge, they are consisted of one or more pairs of conductors separated by a
non-conductive region called a dielectric. The bigger the plates on the conductors,
the more capacitance there is. Its also inversely proportional to the
distance to the separation between the plates. The shorter the distance,
the higher the capacitance. The further the distance the smaller/lower the capacitance.
The energy of a capacitor is equal to the work done to charge it. Capacitors
are represented by the equation C= Q/V.
